Leslie Gumut is the Chief Audit Executive of Quest Merchant Bank Limited, with two decades of experience across internal audit, risk management, information security, and regulatory compliance within the banking and telecommunications sectors.
He provides independent assurance to the Board Audit Committee on the effectiveness of the Bank’s governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks, and plays a key role in reinforcing oversight and institutional integrity. His leadership of the Internal Audit function is anchored on a disciplined, risk‑based approach that ensures comprehensive coverage of the Bank’s critical risk areas, including financial, operational, compliance, and technology risks.
Leslie has contributed to strengthening the Bank’s control environment and audit effectiveness through the integration of data‑driven methodologies and enhanced risk oversight. He has also overseen improvements in fraud risk management and investigative processes, supporting the Bank’s resilience against financial misconduct.
Prior to his current role, he held senior audit leadership positions within the Bank, including leading the IT Audit function, and has broader audit experience across banking and the telecommunications industry.
Leslie holds a degree in Computer Engineering and professional certifications including CIA, CISA, CISM, CRISC, and CISSP. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), ISACA, and ACCA.
